 A Top 25 list of best fishing holes
This week, we're listing 25 good fishing spots to try from Westport
to the Cape Cod Canal, along with Buzzards Bay, The Islands and
Vineyard Sound. You may want to clip and save for future reference.
 1. Cape Cod Canal
- Shore fishing only. No boat fishing allowed. Stripers and blues
spring through fall. Flounder winter through spring. Mackerel in
May. Fluke in summer. Lots of other incidental fish passing through.
2. Mashnee Flats - Fluke
in early summer. It's at entrance to Canal, so many other species
passing through possible. Nearby Hog Island also good for stripers.
3. The Narrows - Fisherman's
public fishing pier on Route 6. Tautog and scup in spring. Some
scup and sea bass in summer. A few blues. Snapper blues in late
summer.
 4. Weweantic River - Good
for scup, stripers and blues spring through fall. Snapper blues
in late summer. Good bridge fishing on Route 6.
5. Cleveland's Ledge -
Tautog, scup and sea bass best in spring, but good all through fall.
